During the past few years, NetSol has helped the Federal and the Provincial Governments of Pakistan as well as other public sector organizations to rediscover themselves by aligning their services with the growing demands and needs of the citizens and other stakeholders.
NetSol's major role in e-governance includes:
Motor Transport Management Information System (MTMIS)
MTMIS is a customized application envisioned and developed wholly by NetSol as an end-to-end solution of citizens' vehicles security and information management. The system is already running in the province of AJK and has been recently officially launched in Punjab with the pilot project in Lahore which undertakes the automation of motor vehicle registration & taxation for 1.5 Million vehicles and would extend to 4 Million vehicles over the next two years.
The system has provision for onsite access to the traffic police records via PDAs and smart cards, onsite verification of any vehicle's environmental friendly status and road side authorization of driver licenses.
Electronic Credit Information Bureau (e- CIB)
E-governance has actually given a break as a paradigm shift in the area of delivery of government services to the public. Governments in the region in general and in Pakistan in particular are often portrayed as rigid with inflexible hierarchies, bureaucratic legalities, problematic processes and procedures leading to red-tapism, slow decision-making and lack of responsibility. 'Electronic Credit Information Bureau' has taken e- governance and e-banking in Pakistan to a whole new level. It is the first product of its kind to be introduced in Pakistan and has enabled the complete automation of the CIB activities. It has been stated by State Bank of Pakistan: "After using this new application, CIB may be considered among the best bureaus in the world in context of usage of technology and data capturing system".
The application e-CIB is a success story catering for the credit bureau operations of State Bank of Pakistan itself and a wide base of around 120 Financial Institutions under the auspices of Pakistan Banking Association. Furthermore at the P@ASHA ICT Awards 2006, e-CIB was awarded as the Best application in the e-Government and Services category.
